Consulting

Do you need a custom application? We can help you decide if you need something built from the ground up or if you can meet your goals by automating existing software like Word or Excel. Automation and workflow streamlining is not a 'one size fits all' proposition. Let us help you decide how to tackle growth without adding head count.

What we will do:

  • Listen to you - There is little that is more frustrating than making the decision to automate... only to be told that you must change your business processes to match what the software does. You need software that helps you be better at what you do, not redefine your business. That said, after some level of automation is in place, you may indeed find an even better way to do things, and we'll be there to help.
  • Guide you - Sometimes custom software is not what you need. It is not uncommon to design software that meets all of your needs, but none of your budget. We can discuss alternatives, up to and including sticking with what you've got.
  • Work within your constraints - Everyone has a budget... and a time frame. Software projects are notoriously over-budget and late. We will work with you to define a minimum viable product, project milestones, and a workable change-management process. We understand that things change, and also that everyone benefits from clear communication and reasonable expectations.

What we will not do:

  • Share your ideas - All consulting work is covered by non-disclosure agreements. We will not share your business processes or application ideas with any third parties.
  • Act as a broker - It is common in the industry to agree to a devlopment plan, then sub the work out to off-shore developers. Our staff and partners in the United States are more than capable of doing any and all development, quality assurance, operations, and support that is required. We will only off-shore work if specifically requested by the client.
  • Ignore the important bits - Software security is often ignored, or dealt with last. We understand that your information (and that of your customers) is a key part of your business. PCI DSS / GDPR / HIPAA / CCPA and other standards will be followed as applicable.

Web Applications

Locally installed software and platform-specific applications are things of the past. Web applications allow you to run software on any device that has a modern browser, saving you time and money on IT support of your equipment and software. We can help you reach your goals with the performance and security you deserve.

Why web applications?

  • No installation - No CDs or lengthy downloads. Applications do not go through a time-consuming installation process and occupy valuable space on your computer.
  • Instant updates - Any updates are instantly available to you. Again, no CDs or downloads.
  • Security - If an application and its data are installed on a laptop, that code and data go wherever the laptop goes - even if it is lost or stolen. Web apps can store the code and data in a secure, backed-up location. Often there is concern over web apps being 'available to anyone'. This, however, is not true. Web apps can be secured with simple username and passwords, or enhanced with 2FA, or restricted to access from certain locations, or a VPN.
  • Availability - If you do want widespread availablity, a web application can allow you make services available to a wide range of businesses or individuals with no requirement other than a modern browser.

Automotive

Whether you are an OE looking to diagnose controller issues at a low level on the CAN bus, or in the aftermarket looking for J2534 or J1939 connectivity, we have the experts to help. We have years of experience with data collection, reprogramming, and real-time monitoring of CAN bus traffic. We are device agnostic - and won't try to sell you on any particular connectivity path - you can use whatever devices you are familiar with.
